A traditional take on the mini-short, our high-waisted Panthea shorts are playful and classic-looking all at once. Featuring double pleats on the front for an A-line that shoots straight from the hip, these shorts are more than simply fitted for comfort. Perfect for everyday wear, slash pockets and a matching deep trim take style to another level, but the dual zip/ button fly and invisible waistband may be too hard to tackle for novice sewers. Team these with a biker jacket for a more rock-chick vibe, or with a satin blouse for a sultrier look.

CREATIVE TIPS

The Panthea Shorts design pattern is the ideal garment to construct for intermediate sewers, especially those who are looking for a cute, yet quick challenge. There are a variety of construction tricks to really occupy the mind, as well as to better suit the wearer.  While the double pleat and pocket detail may scare off beginners, the combination fly and invisible waistband really sets this pattern firmly off limits to those with little experience. Using more stable materials, such a cotton canvas, will make construction easier to work with.
