Showcasing Summer with the Phaedra Drape Dress

Fresh off the stand at our London based design studio, the Phaedra Drape is a soft, light dress that will become a staple for every summer wardrobe. This timeless cut drape effortlessly swathes over the body from the shoulders downward, with an A-line that envelops the wearer for a comfortable yet complementary fit. The perfect pattern for floaty or sheer materials - as shown in our sample using sand-washed silk for the top and chiffon for the body of the dress - adding thicker opaque panelling will allow for more creative colour and styling options.

 

FEATURES

• A vest style upper section with thick shoulder straps and internal facings for a deeper drape
• Hidden deep pockets, built into the side seam for added texture
• A faced hem for the body, with no lining

CREATIVE TIPS

This beautiful pattern is visually deceptive, often looking far more complicated to construct that it actually is. It is a straight-forward pattern that can be constructed quickly for intermediate sewers and a rewarding challenge for novice sewers nonetheless. Use stiffer materials like cotton for a more A-line visual cut, or for a more structurally-styled silhouette. Intermediate sewers could opt for sheer chiffon or crepe satin, to create even more drape and a suitably more delicate style.
