Larcetti is for sewists who have some experience with corset construction, structured sewing or careful fitting. It is more complex than the modern corset range, but it is still one of the more approachable historic styles compared with the most intricate designs in the collection.
You’ll work with a steel busk, external bias-cut boning channels, chevron piping, spiral steel boning, back lacing and bias-bound finishing. The challenge is not just sewing the pieces together. The challenge is keeping the channels clean, the piping deliberate, and the silhouette sharp.
This is a strong step for makers who want their historic corset to feel crafted, but still wearable, elegant and style-led.
Fabric usage & suggestions
Fabric usage:
- Decorative fabric: 140 cm wide × 75 cm
- Structural coutil: 140 cm wide × 120 cm
Fabric suggestions:
Use structural coutil for the base layer. Larcetti needs that support so the bias-cut channels, busk and shaped panels can hold the line properly.
For the outer layer, choose a decorative fabric that gives the corset polish without adding bulk. Satin gives it shine. Lace makes it softer. Cotton keeps the construction crisp. Mesh or Devoré net can add texture while still letting the panel lines and piping stay visible.
Larcetti is a strong pattern for controlled decoration: appliqué, contrast stitching, strategic colour placement or a subtle overlay on selected panels. Keep the fabric choice sharp. This is a corset where the construction details are part of the design, not something to hide.

Larcetti is available in UK 4–20 / EUR 32–48 / US 0–16. Choose your size by comparing your bust, waist and hip measurements to the size chart. If you fall between sizes, make a toile first and adjust for your shape before cutting into your final fabric.
