The Lux jumpsuit sewing pattern is a one-piece project with a clean shape and plenty of attitude.
It has a crossover placket, sharp sleeveless shoulders, a high belted waist and wide trouser legs that lengthen the silhouette. The body is cut with a relaxed slouch through the crotch, while the removable belt pulls the shape back in when you want more definition.

Skill level: Beginner / Intermediate
Lux has few pattern pieces, so the overall construction is approachable. The button-up fly and crossover placket are the areas that need more care, especially if you are still building confidence with garment openings.
The pattern is designed with a slightly longer waistline, so check the body length before cutting your final fabric. If you have a shorter torso, make a toile first and adjust the waist position so the belt sits where you want it.

- Fusible interfacing: 140 cm / 55 in wide × 190 cm / 75 in
The sample is made in fine suiting wool, which gives the jumpsuit a clean, more polished finish.
For a softer everyday version, use linen, cotton or poplin. For something sharper, choose a stable woven fabric with enough body to hold the shoulder line and wide-leg shape.
Avoid anything too limp if you want the silhouette to stay crisp. Avoid anything too heavy if you want the belt and placket to sit cleanly.

Size charts
Lux is available in UK 4–16 / EUR 32–44 / US 0–12.
Choose your size by comparing your bust, waist and hip measurements to the size chart. Because this is a one-piece garment, also check the body length before cutting. The waistline and crotch depth matter more here than they would on a separate top or pair of trousers.
All sewing patterns are drafted for a dressmaker’s B cup, so fuller cup sizes may need a full bust adjustment.

Lux is a jumpsuit pattern with clean lines and a little swagger.
The sharp sleeveless shoulders give the top half structure. The crossover placket cuts through the front. The high belt defines the waist, while the wide legs and slouch crotch keep the shape relaxed rather than stiff.
Make it in fine suiting wool for a sharper, more polished version. Use linen or cotton for something easier and more casual. Poplin will keep the shape crisp without making the jumpsuit feel too heavy.
This is a good project for makers who want one garment that does the work of a full outfit. Not fussy. Not quiet either.
