Dinari Corset Sewing Pattern
£15.00
UK Sizes: 4 – 18 (EUR 32 – 46 / US 2 – 16)
Introducing the Dinari Corset sewing pattern, a body-sculpting garment inspired by a historic corset design from the early 20th century. This pattern focuses entirely on body sculpting and creating a stunning silhouette. With multiple body sculpting panels that work together to create a heart-shaped front, the Dinari Corset visually narrows the waist and emphasises the bust, resulting in beautiful body contouring. The boning is added internally, ensuring a corset with minimal stitching marks on the decorative external layer. Corset enthusiasts will find the construction of the Dinari Corset intriguing and rewarding. The sewing pattern features internal bias binding, boning channels attached to the internal layer, and a centre front 6-loop steel busk for added support.
Skill Level & Tips
Level: Intermediate/ Advanced
All our historic corset sewing patterns are complex and feature a variety of design details such as external boning, piping, and the addition of a metal busk that require skill in sewing and corset making. However, the Dinari pattern introduces a unique boning style that removes visible stitch lines from the external decorative layer. It is a good intermediate corset sewing pattern for those who are familiar with our simpler historic corset sewing pattern range. It’s a great introduction to additional historic corset making techniques.
The instruction set is comprehensive and will create a fun challenge for those with prior corset construction experience, but if you are looking for something easier, we suggest choosing a more modern corset pattern from our selection, as these focus more on perfecting the standard two layer-construction technique than on additional design features.
Fabric
Fabric Suggestions:
The base layer of our corset sample was made with Coutil, a durable fabric known for its exceptional support and structure. To add a touch of elegance and shine, a layer of satin was used as the decorative outer layer, creating a high sheen effect that catches the eye. Additionally, certain front panels were adorned with an extra layer of Devoré felt polka-dot-net, providing texture and intricate detailing. When creating your own Dinari Corset sewing pattern, choose your preferred fabric for the outer decorative layer. Whether it’s satin, chiffon, lace, cotton, mesh, or any other fabric that captures your imagination, ensure that it is not too thick or clumpy to maintain the corset’s desired silhouette and comfort. But bear in mind the base layer must always be made using coutil.
