UK Sizes: 4 – 20 (EUR 32 – 48 / US 0 – 16)

Introducing the Maradonna Corset sewing pattern, an exquisite piece that combines lingerie-inspired design with corsetry techniques. The leotard body and elasticated power mesh panels create a timeless and alluring look. With features like spaghetti straps, cone cups, internal and external boning channels, and stitch detailing, this corset offers endless possibilities for customisation. Embellish the design with textured materials or add a thin belt for added style. Our sample was crafted using classic black satin and matching power mesh. The Maradonna corset sewing pattern includes external boning channels to conceal seams, a full-body leotard pattern with a crotch strap and lacing at the back, foam-padded conical cups with topstitching detail, and zigzag-stitched lingerie elastic finishing on the top edge and leg holes.

Skill Level & Tips

Level: Intermediate/ Advanced
The Maradonna Corset sewing pattern is designed for intermediate to advanced sewists with knowledge of corset construction techniques and stretch fabrics. It is a uniquely constructed piece that combines corsetry and lingerie elements, making it a rewarding challenge for those who wish to create this iconic garment. While not the most difficult pattern in our collection, it requires technical skill and familiarity with both corset construction and stretch fabrics.

Fabric

Fabric Suggestions:
For the front and back panels, use Coutil as a base fabric and satin as a decorative outer layer to create a high-sheen effect. The side panels require power mesh, a high-tensile elasticated fabric integral to the corset construction. Choose fabrics such as satin, chiffon, lace, or cotton for the decorative layer, ensuring they are not too thick or clumpy.

Fabric Requirements:
– Structural Coutil: 140cm (55 inches) > 72cm (29 inches)
– Decorative Fabric: 140cm (55 inches) > 72cm (29 inches)
– Power Mesh: 140cm (55 inches) > 65cm (26 inches)
– Foam (0.5cm thick): 140cm (55 inches) > 21cm (9 inches)
