Arani Dress Sewing Pattern
UK Sizes: 4-16 (EUR 32-44 / US 0-12)
Playful Desires with the Arani Dress. Where playfulness meets distinction, you’ll find the Arani Dress. Featuring a peplum neck for an outstanding style aesthetic and unique movement, this dress is sure to turn heads wherever you go. It’s perfect for smart workwear when teamed with a formal blazer, as well as a statement piece when worn alone. Summer functions will never be the same again. Our sample is constructed using medium-weight linen for the body, along with chiffon peplum details.
The Arani dress features a Mandarin-style collar with a double-layer peplum attached at the neck and centre back for a tighter silhouette. It has an Invisible zip at the centre back, turned-up hem, armhole facings and no lining. The body of the dress is cut on the bias for a flattering fit without the need for bust/waist shaping darts.
Skill Level & Tips
The Arani Dress is one of the most versatile sewing patterns, suitable for both beginner and intermediate sewers. For a less technical and effortless piece, you can remove the peplum neck and armholes and construct the garment in a lightweight material like wool or linen. For more advanced sewers or those seeking a challenge, constructing the peplum section in a soft, matching-coloured chiffon will elevate the dress to the next level.
If you are new to sewing, then we recommend relying on a more stable material (consider cotton poplin or linen) for the body as it is easier to work with.
