Introducing the Lara Shirt sewing pattern, a unique blend of kimono and military styles that showcases creativity and fashion-forward design. With its kimono sleeves, Mandarin collar, and roll cuff-tabs, this shirt is a versatile addition to any wardrobe. Create a vintage glamour look with luxurious satin or opt for a more durable material for an outdoorsy aesthetic. The oversized, straight silhouette and absence of darts ensure both style and comfort.
Skill Level & Tips
The Lara Shirt sewing pattern is suitable for both beginner and intermediate sewers. Novice sewers looking for a challenge will love this pattern, while intermediate sewers will breeze through it. For beginners, we recommend using cotton poplin or soft linen for added stability when cutting and sewing. Experienced sewers have the freedom to explore more luxurious fabric options such as silk or habotai.
If you’re a beginner or intermediate sewer, we recommend using a soft cotton or non-shifting material for ease of construction, similar to the fabric used in our sample images. Sand-washed silk is a beautiful lightweight fabric with a textured finish that is easy to cut and sew. If you can find it, we highly recommend using it for a luxurious result.
