Skill Level & Tips
Level: Beginner/Intermediate
The Milena Top sewing pattern is relatively simple in its design, but it can be challenging due to its many intricate intersecting curved panel pieces. This pattern is ideal for those looking to perfect their sewing accuracy. Using a lightweight starched fabric will assist with cutting and sewing. If you love the shape of the top but prefer a simpler construction, you can opt to combine all the panels into one piece before cutting the fabric to achieve the same silhouette without the hassle.
Fabric
Fabric Suggestions:
The Milena Top is ideal for stable fabrics such as organza, cotton, poplin, and linen. The sample was made using single and double-layered organza to create opaque and transparent segments. Starched shirting cotton or organza can be used to provide added strength to the construction while being easier to manage.
