Panthea Shorts Sewing Pattern

UK Sizes: 8 – 16 (EUR 36 – 44, US 4 – 12)

Playing Along with Panthea Shorts. A traditional take on the mini-short, our high-waisted Panthea shorts are playful and classic-looking all at once. Featuring double pleats on the front for an A-line that shoots straight from the hip, these shorts are more than simply fitted for comfort. Perfect for everyday wear, slash pockets and a matching deep trim take style to another level, but the dual zip/button fly and invisible waistband may be too hard to tackle for novice sewers. Team these with a biker jacket for a more rock-chick vibe or with a satin blouse for a sultrier look. The Panthea Shorts feature double pleats for waist shaping, a combination button and zip fly, diagonal slash pockets featuring thick trim, twin darts on the back, and a concealed waistband.

Skill Level & Tips

Level: Beginner/Intermediate:
The Panthea Shorts sewing pattern is the ideal garment to construct for beginner to intermediate sewers, especially those who are looking for a fun and challenging project. There are a variety of construction techniques to play with, such as the double pleat pockets, combination fly, and invisible waistband. Using more stable materials such as cotton, linen, or suiting wool will make construction easier to work with.

Fabric Suggestions:
Our sample is made using a simple starched cotton to let the design details shine; however, the Panthea Shorts sewing pattern will work well in any stable fabric such as linen, cotton, suiting wool, and even denim.
