Size Charts
How to use these size charts
Use the size chart shown on the product page before cutting your fabric. Not every sewing pattern is available in every size.
Choose your size by comparing your bust, waist and hip measurements to the closest size. For fitted garments, corsets and close-fitting tops, make a toile before cutting your final fabric.

How to measure
– Bust: measure around the fullest part of the bust, keeping the tape level.
– Waist:Â measure around the natural waist.
– Hip:Â measure around the fullest part of the hip and seat.
– Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over close-fitting clothing or underwear.
Cup size and bust adjustments
Ralph Pink Patterns are drafted for a dressmaker’s B cup, which is based on a 5 cm / 2 in difference between high bust and full bust.
If your cup size is larger than a B cup, you may need a full bust adjustment.
Between sizes
If your measurements fall between sizes, choose the size that best fits the most important area of the garment.
For dresses and tops, that may be the bust. For skirts and trousers, that may be the waist and hip. For corsets, check the product-specific fitting advice carefully.
Stretch patterns
Stretch patterns depend heavily on fabric stretch and recovery.
If a product page says the pattern is for stretch jersey, choose a fabric with suitable stretch and recovery and check the seam allowance for that specific product.
Final fitting note
A size chart is a starting point, not a guarantee of fit.
Fabric choice, posture, torso length, bust shape, waist position, hip shape and personal fit preference can all affect the final garment. For best results, make a toile and adjust before cutting into final fabric.
